American Craig Ludwig was a third-round draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 1980, as shown in his 1990-91 Topps Stadium Club trading card. His 17-year career was played with four teams — Montreal, Minnesota, New York Islanders and Dallas. The defenseman was a physical presence on the ice but didn’t take unnecessary penalties. During his college career, Ludwig helped the University of North Dakota win two national championships.
