Standing in front of some empty bleachers, this Superior Dairy baseball team that won the city league championship in 1935 poses for a team photo. Oscar (Ocky) Haugland, who is in the bottom far left in the photo, was the team manager and a fill-in player. Haugland was an outstanding baseball player and he was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 1971. Over the years, Bill Moe also played for Superior Dairy under Haugland. At just 15 years old, Moe started playing for a semi-pro county baseball team called the Kirby Pirates. He played for 23 years but never made it to the major leagues.
