Description

A 1982 third round draft pick by Hartford, Kevin Dineen came from a family of hockey players. Dineen’s father, Bill, was a longtime coach in the NHL, World Hockey Association and American Hockey League. His brother, Gord, was an NHL defenseman and played 13 seasons in the late 1980s. Kevin Dineen, pictured in his NHL Pro Set trading card donated by Roger and Carolyn Erickson, went on to become a two-time All-Star. He finished his career with 760 points in 1,189 games. Dineen went on to coach the Florida Panthers to their first division title in franchise history in 2011-12, and was an assistant with the Chicago Blackhawks when they won the Stanley Cup in 2015.
