Description

Larry Murphy, pictured in his NHL Pro Set trading card donated by Roger and Carolyn Erickson, was a fourth overall pick by the Los Angeles Kings in 1980. During his rookie season, Murphy finished with 76 points. His best season came after he was traded to the Washington Capitals in 1986-87. Murphy totaled 81 points and then surpassed that total in 1992-93 when he was with Pittsburgh and amassed 85 points. The versatile Murphy won four Stanley Cup championships, two with Pittsburgh and two with Detroit. He was named to the second All-Star team three times and played in the All-Star Game three times. Murphy was inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 2004.
