With Garylord Perry and Dusty Rhodes in their lineup, this 1961 Tacoma Giants team were a tough opponent and ended up winning the Pacific Coast League championship that year. The team went 97-57 that year under manager Red Davis. Dick Phillips hit .264 with 16 homers and 98 RBI for the Giants and was named the 1961 PCL's MVP. He's still the only player in franchise history to win that honor. Back Row.
