Red Davis, pictured here standing in the dugout at Cheney Stadium, was the Tacoma Giants manager from 1960 to 1962 in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. With Davis coaching, the Tacoma Giants won the PCL championship in 1961. The Giants finished the season that year with a 97-57 record to place first in their division. They were productive offensively as they scored 727 runs while giving up 607 runs. Gil Garrido played shortstop for the Giants that year and ended up playing in the minor leagues from 1960 to 1973, finishing with a .263 batting average.
