#11 Dick Milford skates toward goaltender Stub Mason during a Tacoma Rockets hockey game. Milford joined the Rockets in 1946 after playing for the Seattle Ironman in the Pacific Coast Hockey League for two seasons. Milford, a center, scored 71 points for Tacoma in the 1947-48 season, and scored 64 points in the following season — 14th in the league in scoring. Milford had a combined 99 goals and 126 assists for 225 points in 189 games as a Rocket. He was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. The Rockets were a professional team that played in Tacoma from 1946 to 1953. Tacoma played in the Pacific Coast Hockey League until becoming a member of the Western Hockey League during the 1952-53 season and relocating to the Tacoma Ice Palace.
