An in color team photograph of Vince Goldsmith while he was playing for Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League. He enjoyed a decade long career in the CFL, earning Rookie of the Year honors in 1981; Goldsmith was the Saskatchewan MVP and Outstanding Defensive Player in 1983, helped his team win the Grey Cup Championship in 1989. Goldsmith was an all-everything when he played for Mount Tahoma High School, earning All-City, All-State and All-American honors as he was with the T-Birds; he was a two-time state champion in the shot put while at Mt. Tahoma and still holds the state record of 69-feet, 11.5 inches. He played on the University of Oregon’s defensive line and was named Athlete of the Year in 1977 and was inducted into the Oregon Hall of Fame in 2002. Goldsmith was named to the Washington state All-Century team in 2000. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame as he led the Roughriders with 130 sacks which is third all-time in the CFL.Lexicon
