Mike Levenseller was a standout in football, basketball and track at Curtis High School where he grabbed the attention of Washington State University coaches. The Bremerton-born Levenseller earned Pac-8 Conference and Associated Press All-West Coast first-team honors as a senior wide receiver for the Cougars. Levenseller was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the 1978 NFL Draft. During his three-year career, Levenseller played for Buffalo Tampa Bay and Cincinnati then went to the Canadian Football League, winning a Grey Cup with Edmonton in 1982. Levenselle was inducted into Curtis High’s Hall of Fame as well as WSU in 1992 and the Pacific Northwest Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
