Description

This is an autographed poster of the 2005 national champion University of Washington women’s volleyball team. The Huskies swept Nebraska 30-26, 30-25, 30-26 to win the national title in San Antonio. UW swept all six matches in the tournament, becoming the second team in to sweep NCAA tournament matches in volleyball. Sophomore outside hitter Christal Morrison (No. 9, top row, second from right) was named the championship's Most Outstanding Player after leading the Huskies with 5.50 kills per game and 6.75 points per game. Morrison is a graduate of Puyallup High School. Other players from the Puyallup and south King County areas were setter Courtney Thomson (No. 3, third from left on top row) and outside hitter Stevie Mussie (top row, left). Thompson is a graduate of Kentlake High School and Mussie is a graduate of Puyallup High School. Thompson won the Honda Award as the nation's top collegiate female volleyball player.
