Bob Robertson sits in a Tacoma Tigers chair as he broadcasts a baseball game. Robertson was the longtime play-by-play voice for the Washington State Cougars before retiring late in the 2018 season. Robertson was WSU's play-by-play broadcaster from 1964-68 and 1972-2011, broadcasting 589 football games -- including a streak of 564 in a row -- over 52 seasons, which spanned 10 Cougars head coaches. Robertson was the broadcaster for Washington Huskies football games from 1969-71. Robertson was the radio voice for the Tacoma Tigers and Rainiers from 1982-1998 and is believed to be the last broadcaster to re-create a baseball road game from the home radio studios. He also was the broadcaster for Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's basketball games. In 2004, Robertson was a recipient of the Chris Schenkel Award. presented by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame recognizing broadcasters for their work doing college football broadcasts. Robertson was the sports director for KTNT (which later became KSTW-TV) from 1956-70 and 1976-83. Robertson was the TV voice of the Seattle Rainiers from 1958-68 he was the TV voice for the Seattle Rainiers and did Tacoma Giants and Tacoma Cubs television play-by-play for 11 seasons.
