Tacoma sporting goods store owner Dillard Howell and Tacoma Cubs president Bobby Adams share the podium at the 1966 Washington State Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Adams spent 14 years in the Major Leagues playing for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs. He stayed in Cubs organization when his playing career ended. He spent six years as president of the Tacoma Cubs, Class AAA affiliate of the Cubs. Adams died in Gig Harbor in 1997. He was 75.
