Description

Elmer Alskog, who grew up in Tacoma and attended Stadium High School in the early 1930s, was a memaber of the Tacoma Athletic Commission. Alskog played on Stadium's basketball team that won a state championship in 1931, beating Raymond 53-20 in the championship game at the University of Washington Pavilion. Since 1945, the Tacoma Athletic Commission has been supportive of local youth sports, raising and donating over $6 million over the years to support youth sports in Pierce County. With a membership of over 275, the Tacoma Athletic Commission has donated millions of dollars to support local sports programs.
