Stan Naccarato is among seven members of the Tacoma Athletic Commission in this black-and-white photo taken back in the 1950s. Pictured in this photo are: seated, from left to right, Stan Naccarato, Tom Cross, Howard Krewson. Standing, left to right, Joe Macaluso, unidentified, Bill Rohrs and Hal Brotman. Naccarato, who graduated fromm Clover Park High School in 1946, was a successful businessman in Tacoma and was a big supporter of sports in the city. When the Chicago Cubs' were pulling their Triple-A team out of Tacoma, Nacarrato helped save the day for the city by bringing the Tacoma Twins to town to start the 1972 season. Over the years, Cross was a do-it-all in sports, playing, refereeing and directing. After graduating from Stadium High School in 1938, Cross led the College of Puget Sound to a Northwest Conference championship and led his team in scoring. He officiated college basketball from 1948 to 1964 and college football from 1948 to 1973. He did Rose Rowl games in 1963 and 1973. Brotman was TAC president in 1970 and 1971.
