Wearing suits and ties, Marv Tommervik, far left, stands with four other members of the Tacoma Athletic Commission in this black-and-white photo. Tommervick was a two-time All-American while playing quarterback for Pacific Lutheran College in the 1940s. Later, Tommerivick was a college football referee for 20 years and in 2013 he was inducted into the Pac-10 Football Officials Associations Field of Honor. Tommervik, who was born in 1919 and died in 2003, officiated two Rose Bowls, refereeing the classic bowl game in 1971 and 1975. The other men in this black-and-white photo from left to right are: Roger McDonald, unidentifed, Harold Tollefson and Bill Rohrs. Tollefson went on to become the mayor of Tacoma.
