Greenlaw, born in Tacoma in 1916, was a solid left-handed pitcher and played nine years in the minor leagues. But his chances of making it to the major leagues was interrupted by World War II. While attending Kapowsin High School, Greenlaw was a dominate three-sport star, running 100 yards in 10 seconds. While pitching for St. Mary's College, Greenlaw struck out 17 in a game against UCLA and he was inducted into St. Mary's College athletic hall of fame in 1974. He was a decorated Army Air Corps veteran and after the WWII he played for the Tacoma Tigers of the Class B and was an 18-game winner in 1946. He threw a seven-inning no hitter. After three years with the Tacoma Tigers, he played for Wenatchee in 1949 and with then with the Tri-City Braves for two years before retiring. Kuper caught for the Tacoma Tigers for two years beginning in 1946. In 1947, Kuper led the Washington International League in hitting with a .389 average. For his career, Kuper batted .321 with 22 home runs, but he never made it to the major leagues.Lexicon
