Herman Reich, who was nicknamed Herm, played for the Tacoma Tigers in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Reich, listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, played first base and played for three major league teams in the 1949 season. In his major league debut, he played for the Washington Senators on May 3, 1949. But his MLB run was short. Later that same year on Oct. 2, 1949, he played in his last major league game while with the Chicago Cubs. In between those two teams that year, he played for the Cleveland Indians. In his short MLB run, he batted .279, hit three homers and drove in 34 runs. After his short stay in the major leagues, Reich returned to the minor leagues and later managed the Idaho Falls Russets of the Pioneer League in 1961.Lexicon
