Seattle Rainier manager Jack Lelivelt (left) and team trainier Lew "Doc" Richards stand next to covered with telegrams congratulating the team on winning defending their Pacific Coast League championship in 1940. The Rainiers finished the season with a record of 112-66, including the postseason. The Rainiers would go on to win their third PCL title in a row in 1941.
