Tacoma's Jimmy Rondeau presents Michael Spinks, who is wearing the black trim robe, with the championship belt. Spinks is a two-weight world champion, holding the undisputed light heavyweight title from 1983 to 1985, and the heavyweight title from 1985 to 1988. As an amateur, he won the gold medal in the middleweight class at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Rondeau, a boxing referee from Tacoma, refereed 19 championship bouts, traveling around the world. He refereed the heavyweight championship fight against George Foreman and Kenny Norton in Venezuela in 1974. After a series of powerful punches put Norton on his back, Foreman ended up winning that fight.Lexicon
