Freddie Steele (right) enjoyed a post-boxing career in Hollywood where the "Tacoma Assassin" became friends with Tacoma born actor Bing Crosby. Steele went on to perform in many movies over his eight-year acting career, including films such as Gentleman Jim (1942), Story of G.I. Joe (1945) and Whiplash (1948). Steele left Hollywood in 1948 and moved back to the Pacific Northwest to open up Freddie Steele's Restaurant in Westport, Washington.Lexicon
