Description

Wilson Sporting Goods equipment that includes basketball, football and baseball gear. The sporting goods company was founded in 1913 when it was called Ashland Manufacturing Company and made tennis racket strings from its slaughterhouses. In 1925 it was renamed Wilson-Western Sporting Goods and became Wilson Sporting Goods Company in 1931. During WWII it introduced the Wilson Duke football, which featured hand-sewn leather. It became the official ball of the NFL.
