“Dill Howell Sporting Goods – Wilson Athletic Equipment" Store Front. In 1936 Kimball's was sold and Dill Howell founded Howell Sports Goods. Howell was a longtime sports supporter in Tacoma. He was one of the original founders and directors of the Tacoma Athletic Commission, which began in 1943 to promote sports.
