Description

Marv Tomervik (left) is pictured here with Marv Harshman (right) with the Young Men's Business Club's with the Totem Bowl Football collegiate championship trophy. Tomervik and Harshman were teammates on the Pacific Lutheran College's football team in the 1940s and they were known as the “Marvelous Marvs.” Harshman earned 13 letters in four sports at Pacific Lutheran University and after he graduated in 1942 he was drafted in the 15th round by the Chicago Cardinals in the 1942 NFL draft. Instead of pursuing a NFL career, Harshman served three years in the navy during WWII and then after the war he began a 40-year career coaching college basketball that took him to PLC, Washington State and the University of Washington. Pictured here, (top left) Marv Tommervik, F. Patrick, Arthur Comfort, Marv Harshman, Frank Hermann, (bottom left) Harry Bird, Norton Gordon.
