Ron Medved, wearing jersey number 45, poses for a photo along with three teammates and a coach from the University of Washington in the 1960s. Medved graduated from Bellarmine Prep in 1962 and went onto start at the University of Washington under head coach Jim Owens. Playing running back and linebacker, Medved was team captain on the Huskies 1964 Pac-8 Conference championship team that played in the Rose Bowl. Medved, the oldest of 10 children, was picked by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 14th round of the 1966 NFL draft. He played defensive back for the Eagles for four years, from 1966 to 1970. He was inducted in the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.Lexicon
