With the lodge and Tatoosh Range serving as a panoramic backdrop, skiers wait their turn to ride a rope tow up the slopes at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. Tacoma’s Jim Parker and Chauncy Griggs installed the first rope tow at Paradise in 1937. While the park no longer allows the temporary lifts, hundreds of people still ski the slopes each winter weekend. There aren't many rope tows left in Washington state, but skiers can still find them at Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park and Meaney Lodge near Stampede Pass.Made/Created
