This is a black-and-white photo of the 1949 “Hoop Shoot” champions, an annual free throw shooting contest among junior high students in Tacoma. The nine young boys in the photo are wearing a “TAC Hoopshoot Champion” sweatshirt or jacket. The competition was based on who could make the most free throws in 25 attempts.
