Description

Don Moseid coaches the Tacoma Community College basketball team in this undated image. Moseid was one of the most accomplished men Tacoma has ever seen in the sport of basketball, spending the vast majority of his time as a player and a coach at various stops in Tacoma. He was a star player at Stadium High School before a standout career at the University of Puget Sound. His coaching career began in high school where he led Mount Tahoma to an undefeated season in 1965 before being hired by TCC in 1967 as part of a massive expansion of faculty and services. That’s when he quickly started earning his way into the TCC and Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC, formerly NWAACC) Halls of Fame, leading the Titans to an NWAACC runner-up finish in 1969 and titles in 1971 and 1974. Only Carl Howell has more basketball wins than Moseid’s 180 at TCC. He continued to teach political science at the school until his 1997 retirement.
