Description

A group of past Tacoma high school stars who had become leaders in the sports community at the time pose for an undated photo from the mid-1950s before an exhibition game with The All-American Red Heads. The barnstorming team was a women’s version of The Harlem Globetrotters, and would play local men’s teams straight up for the first portion of games before moving into an exhibition of skill and comedy in the second half. The team was started by C.M. “Ole” Olson, who also started Olson’s Terrible Swedes, another team that made stops ion Tacoma to play local squads.
