George Henley, left, driver of the U-1 Miss Pay 'N Pak, poses next to a championship trophy along with Miss Pay 'N Pak chairman of the board Dave Heerensperger, center, and John Headley, president of the hydroplane association. Heerensperger invested in six different hydroplanes, and between 1968-82 his teams won 25 races, including two American Power Boat Association Gold Cups and three National High Point Championships. Heerensperger was chairman and CEO of Pay 'N Pak, then developed Eagle Hardware and Garden, which was sold for a reported $1 billion to Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse in 1997. Heerensperger also was an original investor in Emerald Downs race track and his horse Hawksley Hill was second in the 1998 Breeders' Cup Mile.
