Ken Still uses a little body English after he chipped a shot out of a sand trap. Still, who was born in Tacoma in 1935, was a familiar headline in the Tacoma News Tribune over his long and successful PGA career. Still began his 23-year career full time on the PGA in 1960. Still was named to the Pacific Northwest section PGA Hall of Fame in 1995. Over his career, he won three tournaments and had two top-10 finishes in major championships. He placed fifth at the 1970 U.S. Open and tied for sixth at the Masters in 1971. In 1985 at age 50, he began playing on the Senior PGA and continued to play for 11 years until the late 1990s. He lived in Fircrest and on Feb. 12 – his birthday – is still recognized as Ken Still Day.
