Description

With his golf bag hanging on his shoulder, a young Ken Still smiles for a photo while practicing his golf game. Combined, Still, who was born in Tacoma and became a golf celebrity in the Northwest, played 34 years on the PGA – the last 11 on the Senior PGA Tour. At age 50 in 1985, Still began playing on the Senior PGA Tour and continued to play until the late 1990s. He died on March 19, 2017, a month after he he turned 82. Still, who lived in Fircrest, played on the U.S. Ryder Cup team – the highest honor for a pro golfer – with Lee Trevino and Dave Hill as partners. Still, a golf celebrity in Tacoma, held an honorary membership at the Fircrest Golf Club, where his career began.
