Team photograph of the Whistle Bottle Company baseball team in their pinstripe uniforms. The Whistle Bottle Company team was a local baseball team that played a part of the Tacoma City Baseball League. The first official meeting of the Tacoma City Ball League was held on April 27, 1921 which was organized by the Tacoma Commercial Club with Art Graham, Dr. James Egan and Charles Winegar as its officers. The first teams were Standard Oil, Tacoma Grocery, Fairmont, Sound Tire Company, Northern Pacific Railroad and Wheeler-Osgood Company. Year two saw the league add Teddy’s Tigers, Kay Street, Tacoma Avenue, Smelter Athletic Club, Milwaukee Rail Road, LaMunas and the American Legion teams. The first games were played at Stadium Bowl in Stadium District of downtown Tacoma before being moved to the Lincoln Bowl starting in 1926.
