Description

Players for the 1957 Woodworth Contractors baseball team, managed by Marv Scott, pose with trophies at the team banquet after finishing second in the national tournament in Battle Creek, Mich. The Contractors, sponsored by Alden Woodworth, won the 1956 City League championship before taking second at nationals the following season. Metro Parks paid tribute to Woodworth in 1957 by naming a field at Heidelberg Park in his honor.
