Description

Jim Rondeau is refereeing the world heavyweight championship fight between George Foreman and Ken Norton in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1974. He refereed fights between Pat McMurtry, Boone Kirkman and Jerry Quarry, three of top-ranked heavyweights of their time from the Tacoma area. In 1961, Rondeau refereed the fight between Eddie Cotton and Harold Johnson when they fought for the light heavyweight title at Sick's Stadium in Seattle. In additiion to refereeing, Rondeau, who graduated from Bremerton High School in 1937, worked for Foss Launch and Tug.
