Description

Jim Rondeau stops a fight in 1958 on McNeil Island when a boxer goes down. Rondeau, who was born in 1918 and died in 2003, refereed boxing matches from the amateur level to the pro level from the 1940s to the 1970s. In 1966, Rondeau was named to the International Boxing federation and was responsible for training and evaluation of refs and judges. He held that position for 36 years. In 1970, he started a 16-year term on the State of Washington Boxing Commission. From 1946-68, he worked every Golden Gloves tournament in Tacoma, Seattle and Portland.
