Dick Webster, a 1948 graduate of Tacoma's Lincoln High School and a longtime referee, stands with two other men for this color photo. Bob Bafus is on the left in the photo, Webster is in the middle and Jake Mayberry is on the right. Webster was a three-year letterman in football and basketball at Lincoln. He played on a Navy championship team in baseball, fastpitch, basketball and slowpitch. In 1958, Webster played on Tacoma's Woodworth Contractors baseball team and came up one run shy of the national American Amateur Baseball Congress championship. He officiated baseball, basketball and football. Bafus was a longtime boys basketball coach at Colfax High School and was just the third coach to win over 600 games in their careers. He coached at Colfax for over 40 years. Mayberry was a longtime high school boys basketball coach and led Lynden High School to four state titles. He was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame in 2007.
