In the 1972 NFL draft, Rashad was the fourth player picked in the first round and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times and caught 495 passes while playing for the Cardinals, the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings. After his distinguished NFL career, Rashad became a commentator for NBC in 1983. He also went on to broadcast for the NBA, Major League Baseball, the PGA and three Olympics.
