A boxer wearing a white, two-winged emblem on his shirt poses for a photo. The emblem denotes that he boxed for the Tacoma Athletic Club around 1900. Boxing has been a part of Tacoma's sports scenes for many years. In 1948, the Tacoma Golden Gloves started and held its first event, making it one of the early leaders in hosting this boxing event that qualifies boxers for nationals. The photo was donated by Dennis and Jennifer Bullis.Lexicon
