Description

Referee Whitey Domstad watching two unidentified boxers in the midst of the fight in 1949. Domstad was a judge and referee for the Washington State Athletic Commission from the 1940s to the 1970s. Born in the Naval town of Bremerton, Washington, Domstad naturally joined the Navy where he was a Navy boxing champion while serving overseas. Photo by Rhiny Wilhelm.
