This is a black-and-white photo of an unidentified player on the Harlem Globetrotters. The Globetrotters are a mix of humor and athletic skill, entertaining audiences around the world. They started in 1926 in Chicago and in 1929 in New York. They became the Harlem Globetrotters because Harlem was considered to be a center for African-American culture at the time. Many famous players have played for the Globetrotters, including Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain and Connie “The Hawk” Hawkins. Over the years, the Globetrotters played several times in Tacoma.
