Head and shoulders portrait of Bob Maguinez in Cheney Studs baseball uniform. Original photo was signed, lower right, Bob Maguinez. Bob Maguinez was born in 1928 in Tacoma, WA. Graduated from Stadium HS in 1948 and the University of Puget Sound in 1964. Was a longtime Athletic Supervisor for the Metropolitan Parks District of Tacoma. Played with the Stanley Shoemen in 1956 when they became the first West Coast team to win the national championship and he also played for the Cheney Studs when they won the national title in 1960. Instrumental in the creation of the Tacoma-Pierce County/Kitakyushue high school baseball exchange. His uncle was the legendary Jim Claxton who pitched for the Oakland Oaks of the PCL in 1916. "Mac" was honored in1999 for his contributions to baseball by the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association.
