Description

Morley Brotman poses with his camera in the 1950s. Brotman was a longtime photographer in Tacoma and founded Morley’s Photography Studio and worked with McChord Military Base. Morley might have been the most ambitious. A champion of the city of Tacoma, Morley Brotman envisioned a civic center for downtown — his vision eventually became the Tacoma Dome. In 1955, Stan Naccarato convinced Brotman, his partner in Stanley’s Shoes, sponsored the Doug McArthur-coached baseball team which went on to win the AABC National Championship. Brotman was inducted into the Washington Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. Photo donated by Rena Brotman.
