From the front of the manila folder storing this manuscript: "Genealogies of Shelburne peoples, lands & houses of the Webb Estate - done professionally by Frances Burritt Shearer. This took 20 years. These genalogies are to be given to the Shelburne Library." See the attachments for the first page of the 130 page manuscript for details on the authors and dates.
The manuscript was typewritten and someone had marked page numbers on the top right hand in pencil presumably to keep the pages in order. They started with page 19 and it is not know if there were more preceding pages.Context
This is a very extensive study of some Shelburne families and as such is a very valuable historical resource.Lexicon
