This poster is a reproduction in 1975 from an engraving in the collection of New York State Historical Association, Cooperstown, New York.

Context

The original map was created to show the "Province of New York for his excellency William Tryon Esq. Captain General & Governor of the same". The map is a good example of how land claims were unsettled at the time. Future Vermont was at this time in Charlotte and Cumberland County.
