Description
Iron bridge at the mouth of the LaPlatte River, Shelburne, Vermont ca. 1920. High spring water floods themouth of the LaPlatte River fising nearly to the iron bridge over the river. The stone and gravel approach at the right was not infrequently flooded. This bridge served the traffic from the western part of Shelburne until the late 1940's or early 1950's when it was replaced by a cement bridge.
