Description

White China--probably Ironstone egg with opaque white glaze. Characteristic egg shape, not heavy in weight in relation to size--possibly hollow. Surface uneven--some spots where glaze is very thick causing a glass-like effect. Crazing apparent on surface in some areas. Also some dark marks (very small). Chip in glaze in one area (small). Information recorded: "Artificial egg which was placed under chickens to make them lay."
