Description

a) Very heavy base, metal, black with "torsion balance" printed on it, and a decal with "weights & measure inspection 1947-48", and in the center "G.R. Canada" surrounding a crown. There are 2 large bronze screws either end and three metal strips with "Ile 453.5 grams", "l oz. 28,4 grams" and "5 lb. 227 grams" printed on them. A tray (round) and a cradle for the pan are on either side of a needle which moves across a series of weight numbers. b) A gold-colored pan which would fit down into the cradle and would hold the food or liquid to be weighed.
