Small bedsread, handmade of white cotton thread. Nine squares crocheted in a repetitious pattern. There is a crocheted border around the edge, about 8 cm deep which has a scalloped edge. Various crochet stitches used. Each square is crocheted to give the appearance of being made of four triangles, having a raised diamond design formed by short lengths of chain crochet secured to the main part of the fabric. At each inside corner where the squares join, a pom-pom of the same yarn has been attached. Possibly used as a baby's pram cover or crib/cradle coverlet. Several squares bulge outward or are slightly distorted in shape - possibly caused by the method of construction.Acquisition
