One cheek extends past the saw blade and is curved, thus providing a handle. The metal saw blade has teeth set in alternating directions in this pattern. The saw blade is fixed to the cheeks of the saw by metal rivets. The metal tension bar has loops which fasten around the wooden cheeks and is threaded in the central area. The tension bar is severed in the centre and may be tightened or loosened as wished by means of an oval metal 'screw' which is situated in the middle of it.Acquisition
