Commercially-made wooden butter mold, oblong, made of two uprights on the short ends to which are joined the two sides, by means of half-dovetail joint and a fine copper brad at each corner. The sides are less deep than the ends, leaving a gap between the sides and the enclosing top panel, which is also joined to the upright ends with half-dovetail and brads. A central circular hole in the top panel, has been drilled, to accommodate the handle of the wooden plunger that releases the butter from the mould. Two partially-inserted screws, one on either side of handle, act as stoppers as the plunger is released. Bottom of plunger has two sets of three routed lines that imprint the top of the butter.Acquisition
